Jody Jensen Shaffer (SHAY-fur) is an award-winning author from Liberty, Missouri, known for over 80 children's books, including Prudence the Part-Time Cow, A Chip Off the Old Block, and EMERGENCY KITTENS! Her work focuses on themes of diversity and resilience, engaging children in reading and writing. With a background in English and experience as a college instructor, Jody loves connecting with young readers and empowering them through storytelling. When not writing, she enjoys walks with her rescue dog, Sophie, and cheering for her Kansas City sports teams.
